Out of the overall project budget, a total of 172.3 billion rubles has been allocated for smart mobility systems. Up to this point, SMS have been actively developing in Central Russia, whilst the regions embark on pilot projects. Such systems enable the reduction of traffic jams, the optimisation of public transport routes, all the while keeping road users informed of the traffic situation.
Denis Sidorov, Urbantech Group’s Director for Development of Integration Projects, noted the ambiguous results of 2021 - the market failed to recover to pre-pandemic levels, with slackened demand across all areas of conventional infrastructure business. However, there has been more interest towards the digitalisation of those industries where it had not previously been observed.
“A good demonstration of increased demand is the push to identify those violating construction waste transportation rules on imagery, using neural networks developed and provided by the government customer.”
Concession agreements in the field of urban passenger transportation (in particular, tram fleet and cableway upgrades) may be viewed as this year’s breakthrough.
The expert’s hopes for 2022 are for improved consistency and increased predictability of decisions aimed at the development of all infrastructure levels.
